Open Water Referrals

Who is this program for?
Open Water Referrals are for any Open Water Diver-in-training looking to complete their certification training in a different environment.

Are there any Pre-Requisites for this program?
The Pre-Requisite for this program is:

You must be enrolled in an Open Water Diver course with a certified trainer.

How does this program work?
The Open Water Referral program work one of two ways:

You are taking an Open Water Diver course with Dive with Mar and are looking to complete your certification training on a vacation or on a trip (possibly somewhere down south). When you give Mar your trip information (ie. Destination, time frame, etc.), she will set you up with a reputable dive instructor at your destination. You will be given contact information for your next instructor and paperwork to complete your Open Water evaluation. It is your responsibility to contact your next instructor and deliver the paperwork for completion. Please note: Your next instuctor will be collecting fees for your Open Water evaluation and certification card based on their own schedule of fees. Dive with Mar takes no responsibility for the completion of your certification once you have picked up your Referral Paperwork.
You are taking an Open Water Diver course with another diving facility and are looking to complete your training in a different location with a Dive with Mar instuctor. Upon receipt of your referral paperwork, you can book your Open Water evaluation on a Dive with Mar trip. Please see our calendar for information on upcoming Open Water Check-Out dates and locations. Please note: Mar will be collecting fees for your Open Water evaluation and certification card, not your current dive facitiy's instructor. As per the regulations set out by the Professional Dive Instructor Agencies, your Open Water evaluation must occur no more than 6 months after the completion of your confined water training.

What do I need to bring with me?
At this level, incoming referral students are responsible for providing their own gear and must have their referral paperwork signed by their current instructor. Outgoing referral students are responsible for contacting their next instructor, delivering their referral paperwork and arranging their Open Water evaluations.
